List of Venomous Snakes in Texas

Texas Coral Snakes

This is the biggest type of venomous snake in the eastern portion of Texas that has an average length of 48 inches. Their tail is uniformly colored with a dark color. This type of rattlesnake can be found in the Eastern US excluding Florida.

Southern Copperhead

However, the record for the longest southern copperhead is at 52 inches. This is one of the most common venomous snakes in the East Texas. Ground or Pygmy rattlesnake is a small type of venomous snake that can grow up to 22 inches. Compared to the usual type of the rattlesnake, this snake features 9 big scales on its head. Their small rattle will not usually be heard. They can have lavender, grey or tan color. There are also other specimens with red or orange color.
